“When I see the reality in abstract paintings,
When the visuals delineate more that the words, And the colours define more than the form”
- My poem on painting Lavender
An object is not only defined by its form, but also the colour. The deep blueish purple covers the entire land given a deep sense of majestic beauty of nature. The emotion which is pursued by looking at the lavender fields is captured in the painting.
I could see the realistic picture of lavender field in a block of lavender colour because the essence of the scene is captured. The most striking aesthetics of the lavender fields at first glance is the colour rather than the flowers. The abstract painting of lavender painting consists the freshness of colours and expressive marks.
Mark Rothko’s painting of abstract colour field series is very inspiring. He express feeling from the vibrant colours. The feelings and aesthetics has no particular, it defines the form. Such are the paintings of Rothko where the viewers have to forget the shape filled with colour and interact directly with the hue.
The huge stroke of Indian yellow oil paint in the sky represents the "Rise". Rise is the beginning of one's journey to its destiny and the end of darkness. Rothko said “The most important tool for the artist fashions through constant practice is the faith in his ability to produce miracles when they are needed” (Chipp, Selz and Taylor, 1996). Furthermore, he suggests the self-assertion and the internal freedom. The miracles is the tendency to express the inner passion.
The painting even today reminds the impression of the timeless majestic view of the landscape.
