The series of "Incredible India" consists the set of my paintings which represents various incredible landscapes of India.
Paintings which belongs to this series reflect the beauty and glory of places in India such as Kullu-Manali in North India, Bilimora and Vadodara in Gujarat, Mumbai, Munnar in Kerala and many more. I have explored the places and studied the nature of landscapes. The nature is intermingled with personal emotions which makes the paintings imaginative and poetic. Thereby, it is beyond the realism.
The landscapes consist of the essence which can be realised through the perceived notions. This essence connects the self with the nature. The rich culture, glorious tradition and greatness of the God's creation is realised from the visit to a place. Even it may mesmerise our past experience. When the conscious even tries to connect with surrounding, the silence and melody of the nature brings out the inner voice. I intend to paint the experience gained and the aesthetics perceived from the landscape. Hence, the emotion and nature when expressed in the painting, it becomes the naturescape. The “Naturescape” where nature is in terms of landscapes, its changing nature, and the nature of my ways of seeing it.
The Painting of Gateway of India and Taj Hotel is a fifty years old scene. Painting is done as per the description and old pictures. It is an Oil painting on 2 x 3 feet canvas. The early morning view with the rush arise due to arrival of foreigners can be seen.
Another two panel painting of Kullu-Manali is done with Oil paint on 2 x 3.5 feet each. The painting depicts the beauty of Himalayas. The sun is like a door to the sky, a swing floating on the thundering river of Beas. This swing resembles to the Sankheda style. The well-known Sankheda furniture is the traditional the Kheda district of Gujarat. This painting is created through the memory from the visual study acquired during the visit at the place. The composition is rhythmic and pleasant. The huge mountain against the human figure represents the greatness of the nature. Thus, other paintings also deliver such ideas and sing the glory of India.
The visual study is very essential for the landscape paintings. The study of the flow of river, the anatomy of trees, depth in the air and many such things is necessary to understand before starting the painting. Thereby, the artist must be conscious about the emotions perceived through the nature. I have created these paintings through such studies.
Hence, visual study is necessary to understand the nature of the landscape and for the better composition. After studying the numerous landscapes compositions which exist in the nature, I do the selection of the very best subject seen and realised for the painting.
I continue to travel and explore different places to paint the Incredible India.
Most of the paintings are included in the video. Even available on this site, in the Aesthetics of landscape section on the Gallery page.
